quite possibly the nicest thing

The students are lining up for afternoon recess, and I am doing some monitoring.  For no apparent reason, Tyler, with his big glasses and kind disposition, comes and gives me a heartfelt hug around the waist.  "Thanks, Tyler," I say.  Taking a step back, Tyler blinks, smiles, and then looks at me and says sincerely,

"You know what?  I think you'll be a great teacher."

And now my confidence is restored.

And I totally agree...you will be a fabulous teacher!
I suggest keeping a separate book with all of these wonderful things kids come up with and say.
I have a few of those moment with my own kids...
"It's time to play choose the clothes..."
"I love you more than Noah was."
" I am running away to the tree house, don't come out there."

Kids do say the nicest things sometimes.

I think you will be a great teacher for the following reasons: you are a patient person. you genuinely care about people. you are so cute (kids like cute people. eh, who am I kidding, we all like cute people).
